Templates & themes

The Theme library is GOCO’s template catalog: every template you can build sites with lives here. Browse and preview by type, industry and style, star the ones you use often, organize them into your own groups, then assign them to sites in a new batch using the Random / Sequential cycle / Fixed modes.

Two template lanes

Two tabs at the top of the page, browsed independently:

goco templates (default): the HTML static template library, shown as a card grid with thumbnails and filters. When building, AI rewrites the copy and swaps the images — this is the main template source for batch building, and what this page covers.
GOCO templates: the build-program theme list showing name, site types, engine compatibility, stars and verified status — mainly a reference for legacy (Hugo) sites.

Browsing & filtering

The filter bar on the goco templates tab is the same one used by the new-batch wizard’s template picker, so both surfaces show identical results:

Search: by name or slug.
Filter by type: the template archetype (Corporate / Landing page / Blog / News / E-commerce / Portfolio / Directory …), with a count per type.
Filter by industry: the industries a template fits (Tech / Finance / Education / Healthcare / Real estate / Food / Construction …), also with counts.
Score filter: only show templates with an AI content-quality score of at least 60 / 80 / 90.
Article capability: filter to “Can publish” or “Can’t publish” — this decides whether sites built from the template can use automatic article publishing (see the matching tips below).
Favorites only / My groups: show only your starred templates, or the members of one of your custom groups.
Additional filters (such as the live-data tier) sit behind More.

Each template card shows at a glance: the thumbnail, name and slug, the archetype badge, an “Articles” or “Single-page” badge, the industries, a “pages · fields · images” count line, and the score (AI content quality — the list sorts by it, highest first, by default).

The list is paginated with an adjustable page size, and your filters sync into the URL — the view survives a refresh and can be shared as a link.

Previewing a template

Demo: click the Demo button on a card’s top-right to open a full live demo of the template in a new tab and click through every page (your catalog filters stay put).
Template details: click the card to open the detail modal — slug, archetype, industries, styles, stats (pages / editable fields / images), AI content quality and the preview image. From the modal you can also add the template to / remove it from groups, favorite it, or rename it.
Article capability in the detail modal has three tiers: Can publish / Structure uncertain (preview first) / Can’t publish — “Not analyzed” means it hasn’t been assessed yet.

Favorites & custom groups

Favorites: tap the star on a card’s top-left to favorite it; tick “Favorites only” to jump back to your curated set. Favorites are shared between the Theme library and the new-batch template picker.
My groups: click Manage to open “My template groups” and create / rename / delete groups. With a group selected in the filter bar, click “Show all templates” to edit its members: existing members come pre-checked — check to add, uncheck to remove, then Confirm. Deleting a group never deletes the templates, it only ungroups them.
Groups also appear in the new-batch picker’s filters — organizing an industry’s templates into a group ahead of time, then filtering to that group and selecting all, is the fastest workflow.

Template assignment in a batch

In Step 1 of a new batch (goco mode), tick a set of templates and then pick the Template assignment mode:

Mode	Behavior
Random	Selected templates are assigned randomly to each site — maximum differentiation, recommended for batch building
Sequential cycle	Templates cycle through sites in order (e.g. 5 templates × 20 sites → 4 sites per template), spreading evenly across the batch
Fixed	Every site uses the same template (only one can be selected in this mode)

A few details:

With only one template ticked, the wizard shows “Only 1 template selected — using fixed mode”.
The selectable pool for Random / Sequential has a size cap; select-all warns when you exceed it — narrow the filters or unselect some first.
The Step 3 site-list preview has a Template column where you can override individual rows with a specific template (marked “Manually overridden”, with a one-click “Clear manual override”) — handy for pinning one template to a few key domains while the rest stay random.

Matching templates to your industry

Align the industry: use “Filter by industry” to pick templates that match the batch’s industry — when a template’s sections and imagery fit your vertical, the AI-rewritten result reads far more naturally. No exact match? Fall back to a generic Corporate archetype.
Article capability first: if you plan to run automatic article publishing on the sites, only pick templates with the “Articles” badge; sites built from “Single-page” landing templates cannot publish — schedule runs mark them “Template can’t publish” and skip them.
Gate on score: for batch builds, filter to a score of ≥ 80 for more reliable copy and structure.
Many templates + Random: tick several templates per batch and use Random assignment to avoid a same-looking network; mixing styles within an industry (modern / corporate / minimal) works even better.

Changing a template & what a rebuild does

A template is baked in at build time — you cannot swap templates without rebuilding; a template change always means a fresh build. The entry points and their impact:

Re-templating failed sites: the batch detail’s “Rebuild failed sites” offers three rebuild modes — Keep original (rerun the build as-is), Random (assign a fresh template from the batch’s original pool), or Specific (multi-select; picks are round-robined across the failed sites). This only touches failed sites.
Rebuilding an existing domain: paste an existing site’s domain into a new batch and its row is marked “Exists / will reset”; choosing rebuild recreates the site with the new batch’s templates and resets the existing site’s content.
Batch-level rebuild: the batch detail’s Full rebuild regenerates ALL content for the whole batch — existing site data (copy, etc.) is reset, equivalent to running every site through AI again, and it can be done only once per batch. Apply settings, by contrast, just re-applies your saved Step 2 settings while preserving existing content — it never changes templates.
