New batch Step 1: sites, templates & domains

Batches → New batch opens the three-step wizard. Step 1 decides where your sites are built, what they look like, and which domains they use: pick a site engine, a deploy server, templates and an assignment mode, then paste the site list. This page walks through every field and ends with the common errors and how to fix them.

Batch name

The batch name is auto-generated as “account-date-sequence” (e.g. myname-20260719-0001) and is read-only; it identifies each run in the batch list. If the submit button says “Generating batch name, one moment…”, just wait a second or two.

Site engine

Two engine cards sit at the top — pick one (the ⓘ on each card shows the full trade-off notes):

With the v2 engine there is no template picking; with the HTML engine a template library appears below.

Deploy server: goco Hosting / Own server

The “Deploy server” row starts with a two-way toggle — sites deploy to the selected target, and managed hosting binds domains & SSL automatically.

goco Hosting

Pick a hosting server in the “goco Hosting server” dropdown; options show region and capacity (e.g. GOCO-SL-001 · Taiwan · 45/50), with your account capacity above it (X of Y sites remaining).
After deploy the platform binds the domains you entered and manages SSL — no server ops.
If you see “You have no goco Hosting capacity yet” or “Out of goco Hosting capacity”, use the buy button to purchase capacity on the Servers page, then come back.

Own server

Choose one of your bound servers in the searchable dropdown; every option carries a status badge (active / offline, etc.).
After selecting, a readiness check can show four states:

Server hasn’t been probed yet	Open the server’s detail page, click “Detect server”, then come back
Server last probed as “offline/error”	Possibly a network blip — click “Re-check” to verify live, or continue anyway; deploy connects for real
Server is in maintenance	Hard block — switch servers, or exit maintenance on the server detail page first

Template assignment

Whichever engine you use, pick one “Template assignment” mode; the meaning differs slightly per engine:

If exactly one template is selected, the wizard notes it is treated as fixed assignment.

Picking HTML templates

With the HTML engine, the “HTML static templates” panel offers:

Search & filters: search by name or slug; filter by type, industry, score, article capability (“Articles” / “Single-page”), and live-data tier; or show favorites only.
Bulk select: “All (N)” selects everything under the current filters; the selectable pool for random/sequential assignment is capped at 1000 — at the cap, clear or deselect some first.
Favorites: star a thumbnail’s top-left corner to reuse it next time.
Click a thumbnail to enlarge it; in the parsed preview you can also override the assigned template per row.

Site list: domains and copy columns

The core input, “Sites”, is a textarea with one site per line, columns in this order:

Separators: use Tab or @@@ between columns (2+ consecutive spaces and pipe | also work); the wizard auto-detects and shows “Detected × separator”. Paste directly from Excel (Tab by default).
Header row: if the first line contains column names (domain / title / brand / description / keywords), columns are mapped by name and can be in any order.
Required columns: domain, title, brand, description; keywords are optional, comma-separated.
Optional columns 6–10 (per-site customization; any filled column overrides the batch-level value for that site): cols 6/7 = per-site GA4 (G-XXXX) and Baidu Tongji ID; cols 8/9/10 = per-site logo URL (https), primary color (#RRGGBB), company name.

Supported domain formats

Bare domains (example.com) and subdomains (www.example.com, shop.example.com).
Auto-cleanup: https:// prefixes, paths and trailing dots are stripped, everything is lowercased; internationalized domains are converted to punycode (xn--…) automatically.
Not supported: IP addresses, ports (:8080), wildcards (*.example.com), or single words without a TLD.

After pasting, switch to the “Preview” tab: each row shows a status — New / Existing / Will reset / Will migrate / Error / Conflict. “Existing” domains must each be marked “Reset” (their data is overwritten at build time) or removed; domains that live on another server can be migrated into the current server in one click, or you can switch to the source server, or remove those rows.

Size and quota limits

Common errors and how to fix them

Error	Cause & fix
Invalid domain / Missing domain	Check the first column of that line is a valid domain; drop ports, wildcards, etc.
Duplicate in this batch	The same domain appears twice in the list — delete the duplicate line
Missing title / brand / description	The line has too few columns or the separator wasn’t recognized — match the format above, or add a header row
Description looks misparsed as keywords	A non-blocking hint that columns are misaligned: check the column order, or add a header row so columns map by name
N existing domain(s) still need to be reset or removed	In the preview, mark those rows “Reset” or remove them before submitting
N cross-server conflict(s) unresolved	Migrate them into the current server, switch to the source server, or remove those rows
Server not ready	Not probed / build program missing / no templates / in maintenance — see the “Own server” section above
The chosen managed-hosting server is full	Buy capacity on the Servers page, or pick a hosting server with enough room
Validating duplicate domains… / Domain lookup currently unavailable	The duplicate check is running — wait a moment; if the lookup is down, retry a bit later
A batch is already being created	Your account already has a batch in flight — retry in a few seconds
Domain conflict (sent back to Step 1 after submit)	The server-side re-check found duplicates or domains that already have sites — fix those rows or mark them for rebuild / remove them

After Step 1, click “Next” for Step 2 Advanced config (brand / content / SEO — all optional), then Step 3 Review & submit.
